Read the clue and open up the back of the vehicle to use the computer screens, spy glass and other mystery-solving equipment. It's not often that I have early access to LEGO, so I took advantage of my opportunity and tracked down a full set (with help from my wife) by feeling the packs.

The Spooky Tree while looking a little barebones does serve its job of giving the entire set some context and playability. the inclusion of an enormous replica of Scooby Doo’s name tag that acts as a platform for the five minifigures: Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred. The most interesting thing about Fred and Shaggy are their brand new hairpieces, with both making their debut in the Scooby Doo theme. A glow in the dark Zombie would be a really cool character and I was quite surprised that LEGO didn’t include it in a theme that’s all about ghosts and spooky mysteries.Scooby Doo is the star of the set and series, so we’re treated to a delightful new mould for the cowardly pooch. The Zombie has a shabby (although not tattered) outfit which looks more like a hobo’s wardrobe than someone who has risen from the dead.

The Mystery Machine features a driver’s cabin with steering wheel and space for 2 minifigures, removable roof and foldout sides for easy play. This past week, my wife and I took our three-year-old son to the newly opened LEGOLAND New York Resort. Like almost everything at the amusement park, the LEGOLAND Hotel is a full of LEGO-inspired designs (and plenty of actual LEGO bricks, minifigures, and models)!I’ll just come right out and say it – the M ystery Machine is a beautiful rendition of the gang’s vehicle of choice. Including an alternate head for Zombie would be even better but well, the back printing on the zombie head does it for me.
